Product Development- Plant-Based Dairy Alternatives

SITUATION

The client had a line of dairy products. Considering a similar concept, the client was looking into a line extension in order to produce non-dairy milk, cheese and yogurt alternatives.

PROBLEM

Development of such products is highly complicated. The knowledge and know-how in formulation and processing is not fully developed yet. This is due to the nascency of the novel generation of dairy-alternative products.  Also, the product differentiation in the current dairy-alternative market is a challenge.

SOLUTION

We offered our high expertise in the field. Also, using our high analytical capacity helped us to secure the success in the process of formulation and process development.  Our formulation experts in collaboration with our processing experts worked on a step-by-step development of the product process for cheese, and yogurt and milk alternatives.

The products+ process was approved and scaled-up for the client, and manufacturing was established as a new line of dairy alternatives which is present in the US & Canadian market.
