“Pop Up” Research & Development Team

SITUATION
A private equity company acquired a large natural products brand portfolio and needed to rapidly renovate and innovate across multiple product platforms and co-packers.

PROBLEM
The company needed an experienced Research & Development team to plan and execute multiple product development activities, but had no employees or facilities the support.

SOLUTION
A team of food scientists and engineers from within our company was formed to support. Over a period of 18 months, we developed and scaled up at co-packers, a range of new baked products (gluten free, ancient grains, high protein).  Working closely with the client, our team also reformulated multiple existing products to meet Non-GMO Project Verified claims (cookies, crackers, soups), identifying alternate ingredients and supporting transfers to alternate co-packers.

BENEFITS
With help from our development team the client was able to invigorate their brand with new Non-GMO products, produced more cost effectively, leading to a successful portfolio sale.
