Hydrocolloid Replacement Project

SITUATION
A company was trying to replace all their formulation containing carrageenan with a different hydrocolloid.  However, they were not happy with the cost and hydrocolloids used in the formulation.  We were asked to replace their current formulas but maintaining product quality and functionality.

 PROBLEM
Products were manufactured in two different locations. One manufacturing plant that were used had different set up in equipment resulting to unusual dosage of hydrocolloids compared to normal usage rate.

SOLUTION
We had to use two different formulations to be able to accommodate differences in manufacturing plant equipment set up.  We were able to replace hydrocolloids with same product quality and functionality.  In addition, we were able to reduce COGS ranging from 5 to 15%.

 BENEFITS
We were able to produce products with same quality and functionality while dealing with the differences of manufacturing equipment set up.
