Divestitures

Situation

Diversified food company decided to divest its condiment subsidiary for strategic reasons. "Major company A" had shown prior interest in buying the condiment business.

Problem

When contacted, "Company A" was no longer interested.

Solution

We developed a plan for confidentially marketing the subsidiary to a select group of strategic buyers. We contacted "Company A" along with the others.

Benefits

"Company A" changed its mind and outbid the others for the business. Seller got a top price because of the competitive nature of the process.
