CONTRACT NEGOTIATION AND RFP PROCESS SITUATION
Situation
A system of hospitals that had contract management services
for its foodservice operation wanted to go 'out to bid'
for either a change or retain its existing contract management
firm.
Problem
They did not have the expertise in house to manage this
process.
Solution
Developed a request for proposal, evaluated all proposals
for service enhancements as well as financial benefits
and made top three recommendations for the system to consider.
Benefits
The system was able to focus on the important issue of
which contract firm would most reflect their mission for
the patients and staff and avoid unnecessary time and
expense in the process.
